"Invalid ID for region-based ZoneId"

Roli Wasmer shared this problem 3 years ago
Solved

since the update to 3.50 I regularly get the error message: "Invalid ID for region-based ZoneId, invalid format: ..... " when I want to import geocaches.

I keep getting the error when I click the link in notification e-mails, search on the map or import by GC code. Some caches work, some don't.

I don't know whether it is related to the GC add-on or to Locus maps itself. The app doesn't crash but it is annoying that I can't import all geocaches anymore.

This problem started today for me. Caches that are published earlier seems to load but cached published today does not.

Live map show caches but can not show description or logs. Only the basic cache data is visible in this mode.

Same for me.

Hi, unfortunately I cannot reproduce this for GC97224. Can anyone send me the app logs? Just reproduce this error and then send me the logs via GC Settings -> About -> Send feedback.

Thanks!

Hello Arcao

this morning the problem is gone for me, perhaps it was an issue on Groundspeak.

Yesterday at ~17:20 i´ve activated the checkbox "Fehlerbericht senden" and confirmed it with OK. Have you got this one?

I will continue to observe it

Yes, the issue was on Groundspeak side. The problem was that they send Timezone region in an invalid format. Expected was Europe/Berlin, but they send "Europe/Berlin" (including quotation marks) which is invalid format. Code responsible for checking format throws an error.

Probably they have already fixed it, because I can't replicate this.

I just checked that failing caches are now working correctly on my device.

Can't these quotation marks be skipped if they are received?
