Lomaps map graphics

Hi

I would be happy to switch to using Lomaps on Locusmap 4 but am struggling to see the footpaths. They are very faint. As I use it for walking then this is a problem. Can the graphics be customised?

I am familiar with using openandromaps on the original Locus map and then using a theme for activity. I know I can use these maps in 4 but I think a big point of the new version is the push to use locmaps; so would prefer to use them if possible.

The OAM card has the same raw data as the Lomaps. You can still use the OAM.

What is the advantage of the Lomap.

I believe the storage space?

And there are an offline Poi search with the LOMAP. But this also works when you use the OAM and the LOMAP is in memory. I find the theme (presentation) of the Oam much better. Unfortunately, the Lomap does not work with the Oam Theme

Hi,

thank you for the message. We'll consider it. I'm not sure if the paths should be more visible / thicker than the tracks.

@freischneider - what theme do you use with the OAM - the Elevate? (I'd like to compare with the LoMap Hike&Bike theme)

Thanks, Petr

Hi

Here's a screenshots of Lomaps and OAM. It has actually come out a bit darker than when actually looking at the maps in the app. So for example the path that run NW from Clappersgate is very hard to see at all on the lomap.

(Yes, I use the elevate theme with OAM).

If you are going to have a map called Hike and Bike then the paths should both be clear.

To differntiate paths should be visually thinner than tracks and have a closer peck/dash. Also colour could be used eg 100% black for tracks. 75% black for paths.

Also on lomaps I think that the paths dissapear too quickly when zooming out. OAM does it better so you can zoom out alot further and still see paths. This makes it easier when on a walk adapting a walk if neccasaery.

Just some ideas. I'm trained as a cartographer and so hopefully know a bit about what I am talking about.

I think you do a fabulous job. The original Locus Map is my favourite app. I look forward to transferring to 4.

I am using the Elevate theme. What I like there is that hiking trails and MTB trails are shown in color. I can tell the difficulty from the color. Since I mainly want to use paths when hiking (MTB). I just need to look out for colored paths. They immediately catch the eye. For paths where no difficulty is specified, the path is shown in brown (i.e. also in color).
