Texts cut off in the map manager

In the map selection, several texts are cut off. Turning the mobile to landscape doesn´t change this.

How can I show the missing parts? Sometimes it is not possible to guess the meaning, and I dont want do press anything starting with "Abonnement ab.." . does it mean "abbrechen"? = cancel

Hello Flora,

thanks for this post. It is an old-time problem not just in the Locus Map app. Here it is even worst with German words, which are usually a lot longer than the original English translation.

Unfortunately, we currently do not have a simple solution here. The system of small dialogs or bottom menu is in preparation, which should solve this issue, but it will still take some time. Sorry and thanks for understanding.

Hello Menion,

you have this big german Locus community at your disposal, why not ask one of them for a shortened version that still makes sense? And maybe others for other languages as well...

But anyway, good to know that you are aware of the problem. Thanks a lot!

Hello,

the app currently supports probably 25 languages and except English and Czech, all are based on the work of volunteers. It is not in our time-abilities, to check & control them.

So if you personally have any suggestions, feel free to contributes to our Crowdin translation site, or discuss it on the forum with the Locus Map community.

Hi Menion,

I can´t find the relevant strings in crowdin, for instance "Set 'Valid for'" or "Cancel subscription".

Maybe it is more a problem that I don´t understand the meaning even in english: "Cancel subscription cancels your Wanderreit map subscription" - this should read "removes/disconnects the ... subscription from Locus", since nothing I do in Locus should have an impact on my interaction with a third party. The subscription itself should not be affected if I delete/remove the login data from Locus.

Where would be the best place to discuss this in the forum?

Hello Flora,

hmm, just these two words are complicated. "Set valid for" is created in the app from two separately translated texts (not ideal, I know), and "Cancel subscription" is the very generic text used in more places in the app.

German thread > perfect. If, based on the discussion, there will be a need for a better translation, please let me know and I'll prepare on the Crowdin separate words for these two cases. Thanks!
