'Quick Add Point' also for Track recording

Menion shared this idea 10 years ago
Completed

'Quick add point' function allows to add points to predefined folders.

Unfortunately is not able to add points to currently recorded track. So there should be a way, how to define target for point not as a folder in Locus database, but as a current recorded track.

Such feature may be really useful for example for mapping for OSM. Together with new ability to edit attached points to track, to add to them attachments, this should be really poweful feature.

PS: this idea comes from one Czech user and because I like it, it's here ...

this will be a very usefull feature, in retrospect of a tour, add comments, photos videos. For documentation and presentation, i am waiting expectant on it ;-)

Together with some changes I do in track recording, I added also this feature.

So stay tuned to next Locus version ;)

Only what remains on a small discussion is one fact. When you store point to common folder, it's stored with coordinates of map center. For track record is anyway logical to store point with current GPS coordinates, right? Unfortunately this is not clear on first sight, so I do not know if this is a problem, or not ...

So it is very good news for me! Otherwise, I would definitely prefer the current position to save the point, not the center of the map.

Many of false points I entered when I previously forgot center :-)

Hello menion,

what do you think about providing a "testversion" in advance ?

photo

Sometimes i stop and search for the right place on the map to add a POI.

Maybe new point is not directly on my trackline, so i need the cursor/map center

Because If you need the point on GPSpos:

Tap the button on left bottom and add the QuickPOI...

@balloni: I really want to publish test version, but it's not now possible due to some changes we do. Anyway it will be possible within a few days ...

@gynta: yes, exactly this I think also. You always can center and then add point, but not opposite.

Question remain what in case you add points to recorded track, but I have something in head now. You'll see in test version :)

or

...long tap on a quickpoi icon -> edit

ok thanks, now i understand, i tryed it and it works well, thanks for that!

As i wrote above i hoped we can add poi´s also after recording, but this was a missunderstanding by me.....

is it possible to add this feature also ??

Stupid question....Where can I retrieve/review recorded POIs stored (?) in a track?

photo

@jtkorken: not a stupid. Currently you may see such waypoints only on a map.

Later in a new track screen will be a tab with list of all attached waypoints.

@balloni: understand, I'll trink about it

Hi you all,

I have the same problem, more or less, as I wrote in a couple of posts:

http://help.locusmap.eu/responses/binding_points_and_track

http://help.locusmap.eu/responses/import-gpx-file-containing-tracks-and-waypoints

Now I explain my issue.

I use to plan trips before riding them, not just for me but for a bike team and cyclotourists; Locus is perfect for this purpose: I can create routes easily or join tracks together and so on, you know what I mean. (A lot of people, looking what I can do with Locus is astonished!)

Then I add in Locus some Pois together with comments in Description field, concerning informations about places along the route or in that neighbourhood.

Finally I would like to export them for sharing informations with other people, either they can use or not Locus (maybe on pc, for instance...).

Locus doesn't let me to do so.

It is true: when I record a track I can add pois on the go, and they are stored together with the track. But this is not what I want (and sometimes can) do.

The funny thing is that I could ride before planning, and then share my ride as a plan (whithout adding pois!) :-)

And what about if i would add pois "after" saved the track, completing informations that I cannot easily reach on the go?

Same issues importing tracks, as I wrote in posts above linked.

I'm sure that Menion & C. can solve this problem :-)

Hi Lucio,

for .kmz it is possible to add poi after the track is saved, read

http://forum.locusmap.eu/index.php?topic=3880.msg28969#msg28969

please try it with .gpx if it work for you

Hi ballooni55,

thanks you a lot.

This solutoin works fine, even if not with .gpx files.

Nevertheless it is enough for me.

I recently purchase the pro, partially for the quick point. However, I am sorely disappointed because I cannot figure out how to have the quick point set to be my gps location rather than the cursor location, like you can do with the regular waypoint. Additionally, is there any way to shortcut to the waypoint maker? the waypoint function is quite hidden under a few menus.

Good day Philip,

currently there is possible to define only "screen center" to be stored as a location for a new "quick point". So if you wants a GPS location, it is recommended to use this function together with enabled centering of screen.

To create own waypoints faster, please use menu > settings > Map - control & panels > Set functions panel. Here you may add a various functions to main screen top/right panel. What you need is a "Add new point" function.

If you have anymore questions or ideas, feel free to create a separate topic for this purpose.

Hello all,

I´m using this feature in the PRO version to add photos while the track is recorded.

Is there any possibility to export those photos after track recording has been finished?

I´m able to show up the photos on the Smartphone, but no export is possible on the first sight.

There is some NFC button but did´nt work and needs obviously a second device.

Any ideas?

Best regards,

Andreas

Hello Andreas,

best way to export points with photos attached to track, should be in context menu of track > export > GPX and set "Share exported data" and "Insert a formatted description".

Result of above export will be an zip file with GPX file (track, points) and all photos in one sub-directory. Hope it helps ...

Hello menion,

for me it works a little bit different,

if i set export path to Locus/Export with no checked "Share exported data" i get a

- filename.gpx

and

- filename-attachement folder with photos

in export folder.

If i check additional "Share exported data" and select e.g. "Dropbox" in upcoming window

i get on Dropbox only

- filename.gpx without attachements

in no case i get a zip file

photo

Ah no zip, my sorry. Then it will work in mentioned way for KML only. I though I use same system also for GPX.

You are of course right ... I remember that somewhere here lay an issue, that Locus do not export attachments to Dropbox.

Hello Andreas,

you also find this photos on your SD card in original size with included geocoords

Locus/data/media/photo

so you can copy them for other use
