Just checked with the latest G4L 3.0.6 but that one also does not remove caches when disabled: it used to do so in previous versions. Now I need to kill Locus Pro in order to clear my screen.

(Bit of a confusing new screen for me for entering a new problem). Do I need to click on 'Complete'? )

for me it's working too. Did you uncheck "show disabled" within GC4L's settings?

It works 'better' with that setting activated: G4L Settings --> Settings --> Live Map --> Hide caches when disabled. I admit that I did not realize that setting; do not recognize it. Now, when activating Live Map and G4L starts to show caches in that expanding circular fashion: when you wait until G4L is done showing the max amount of caches and then disable Live Map, then all shown caches imm. disappear. When you do not wait, and G4L is still busy expanding and showing more&more caches, and then quickly disabling Live Map, then the caches do not disappear in Locus. Only when again activating Live Map and having shifted the map, then the previous shown caches are cleared away by G4L.

as written above: there's a dedicated setting to reach exactly the goal you're wishing.
Settings -->Filter --> "show disabled". No need to use the setting of Live map.
But perhaps we're missunderstanding you intention. What do you mean with "disabled"? Tempory disabled caches? disbling Live-map? etc... Please write in detail and with examples what exactly you want to reach and what part is not working.

OK, I understand there is some confusion: what I am aiming for is the behavior as I have known G4L for the past years: when disabling the Live Map function in G4L that all shown caches are disappearing again. I am not/never talking about 'disabled caches'. So I am not fiddling with the Filter function in G4L, I am only enabling / disabling its Live Map function. And as I found out: G4L does not disappear already shown caches when quickly enabling - disabling the Live Map function.
Step by step:
Hope this is clear(er) ;)

Ok, now I understand and also can confirm your observation.
It's good that people can choose within Settings --> Live Map whether they want to keep Livecaches after switching Live map off on the map or not.
This function is working correct - but only if all caches of the current map window have been loaded before switching Live map off. If turning it off before, than the caches stay on the map, which indeed is a little bug I think.

Just received an update for G4L, now version 3.0.7: this one works a lot better removing the caches when quickly disabling G4L. So thanks for the effort so far!
However, still it is not perfect: first activate G4L and the window will go away when activating; then quickly again get G4L in the foreground and wait until you see the first caches appear under/side the G4L window; then disable G4L: then quite often the caches in the live map are not removed from screen.
