Locus Map Watch add-on uses the phone GPS, not the watch's. As for the screen, I would probably prefer Samsung.

Yes, but you asked about the screen. I personally have Garmin Fenix 5 and I'm happy - they're fully waterproof, keep charged almost two weeks, rugged and full of features, including Locus Map for Garmin, allowing to watch Locus navigation on my wrist. But they don't have the brightest screen.
