Saved route not immediately synced on second device

Not a Problem

I also have new LM4 gold , and cloud sync seems to work properly. Just one question about the sequence when sync is taking place. When I plan new route on my tablet (Samsung tab s7+) and route is stored, I expect to have this route on my smartphone (Samsung s10e) all Android 11 , in short time. But it is not visible there. Both devices are connected to same wifi network, automatic sync is set in both apps . Any idea how this works ? Thanks Peter

Hello Peter,

I've moved your post to a separate topic.

In case, you have enabled automatic sync, the app takes 30 seconds since the last change in the database (so for example since saving a new planned track), till the sync is started. Synchronization should take only a few seconds. After that, the second device should receive a notification that there are new data. And again, it should take 30 seconds on the second device. So in the end, I expect that within 90 seconds, devices should be fully synchronized.

This automatic sync does not work for you, no matter how long you wait? If not, is a problem on the first device that does not upload track on the server or the second device that does not start sync later?

Menion, could these detailed descriptions be worth adding to existing doco, so other users can self-diagnose their teething issues? Saves you endlessly repeating.

Andrew, as I wrote, it is not on me. Docs are created by @Michal Stupka and he is really a little bit overwhelmed by not just docs work.

Sorry Menion, I wasn't specifically "blaming" you. I'm not tracking who on the Locus team does which task. It just seems there are lots of similar questions/ issues that could possibly be self-supported/ self-resolved with a little improved doco.

I do not take it personally, no worry :). I perfectly got your point. The fact it that existing manual for the Locus Map Free/Pro was created during many many years. Now we need to update, rewrite, new screenshots etc for most of pages. And in our small team it is a task on Michal who does a lot of other tasks.

We are writing the most frequent questions in the support, so these topics will be covered as soon as possible.

Hi Menion,

I observed the function during the last 2 weeks, and it seems that it does not sync automatically , allthough automatic sync is activated. Do you have any idea how to solve ?

Hello Peter,

hmm, you are the first who report this problem. I was worried that it will happen in the future :).

I think that first what we may check is

  • double-check that automatic sync is enabled in the "Sync screen"
  • perform manual sync from your device, if it ends with success
  • try to create a new route on the web.locusmap.app planner
  • after you save this route, in 30 secs, you may notice the start of sync on the device

I've done some tests with planning route on my tablet, and it seems everything works well . Sorry, but I don't know what was the reason that I did not get the update on my phone. Don't mind, hope it will run smooth in future times. Thanks for your support , Peter
