Tweaks in new geocache window

Hi there.

I loved the new configuration of the geocache window. Thanks for that!

Still, I have two suggestions:

- If the option to show gcVote in geocaching options is off, the gcvote shouldn't appear in the geocache in the window, below difficulty level.

- The favorites icon could present the list of users who gave favorites when long pressing the heart.

Regards.

It doesn't matter who gave the favorites. The number is important. You could make the heart blue if there are any and gray if there are none.

Well, you could say it doesn't matter to you. It would be a better comment on your side.

The idea with the blue heart also had in the development phase. Unfortunately it was not implemented.

Hi guys,

1. removing "GC vote" just leaves empty space because on the same row are also logs. This may then need some kind of dynamic UI based on the visible content = not so easy to do properly.

2. list of people who gave a vote is also not a five-minute task, sorry. The best should be a direct link to the gc.com web page, like this one: https://www.geocaching.com/seek/cache_favorited.aspx?guid=07d9a102-3e4a-4337-aab5-5eeadeb45116 , unfortunately required "guid" parameter is uknown to Locus Map as app works with cache ID only. So most easy for now is to display cache web page by the click on the cache code in UI and from here, two more taps to see required page.

Hi, Menion.

1. GC Vote it's not useful for geocaching, since it's an external service known and used by a minority. It shouldn't even be part of the main menu. Instead, in order to occupy that space, you could bring the logs to the entire line (instead of being just on the right), or organize it in another way, since all useful info is already displayed in the cache UI.

2. Well, if that's not possible, a blue heart when there are favourites, would be a nice addition.

Regards.

I've noticed that when I open a geocache screen in Locus, I have to scroll down a lot to see the owner's name.

Instead of the GC Vote space on top, the owner's name could occupy that space and it would be much easier to read.

Hi, understand that for some people, GC Vote is not useful at all. Seems to be a dead project right? Maybe I should do a poll with option to remove it completely. If change for "owner" or not .. it is matter of taste, so not so simple to decide, sorry.

I don't know if it's dead, but it's an external service, used by few and useless for many. I think it's a waste of space and resources in the geocaching window. If it is removed, that space is probably going to be occupied by something else.

Given that all the other relevant informations are there, the owner name would be a good idea for those who open a cache and want to see if it's a well known owner. It's very useful to judge the quality of a cache right off the bat. But it's just a suggestion, of course.

It's a very good service, and it's more useful than favorites. It's not dead, but the creator doesn't want to spend any more time on it. GC wanted to buy the project but the creator wanted it to remain independent.

I could imagine that Locus Map would take over. I could ask the owner.

I also consider it more useful then, from my point of view, little stupid favorites points. Anyway last update six years back? Hmm ...

Anyway AntMadeira, I got your point and will consider what to do with GC Vote later. Maybe a global option "Support GC Vote: on/off" should be more useful, agree.

An on/off option would definitely be the best of both worlds. Thanks for considering it.
