Downloaded offline map is not showing up

It looks like this issue is not related to a map provider itself. When I download the offline map it starts fine, runs all the way to the end. Once the download is complete the progress window disappears(without any issue) but the map is nowhere to be found! It's super confusing. First I thought the download doesn't work at all. But later found that if I exit the app and open it again - I can see the map in the list of offline maps. Again, this is super confusing. I tried downloading multiple times and had to wait for it again and again without any luck before I found how to deal with this problem.

Can you specify which specific maps you are downloading?
Do I understand that the map will not appear in the list of offline maps until you first close the application and reopen it?

This time it was OSM - Outdoor - MTB Europe. I think I had the same issue with other maps as well.
Yes, you got it right, after downloading the map will not appear in the list of offline maps. But if you close the app and open it again - it will be there.
