Empty track recording

Hi,

since that last few updates I often have an empty track recording page. (see attached pic). If I open it more often it my appear as it should. I already cleared the cache of the app - but this did not help.

Hello Wolfgang,

First of all, please try turning off full screen mode.

If that doesn't help - install the latest Beta.

Hi Andrea,

thanks for your feedback. I just disabled the full screen and I will do some tests.

Attached a screenshot where you see that the menu disappears sometimes and also I have big problems opening Geocaches while I choose them from map. Maybe this now all is gone with the no full screen mode.

The beta I don't want to test. I'll just wait the final version.

I have a catphone S61 unfortunately with Android 9

I have the problem with Samsung S8 and Android 9. Unfortunately Menion couldn't find anything yet. He cannot simulate the problem, it does not appear on his team devices. My new phone is fine. The only solution you currently have is to switch off full screen.

Hi Andrea,

I tested it now only twice both times the workaround with no fullscreen is good. But it's only a workaround because I love the full screen mode. As mentioned before I'll wait for the final version and I won't install the beta.

For me it doesn't work with the beta either. Ticket should remain open.

Hi Andrea,

okay the test at home was useless. Yesterday I was on tour and the problem came back after some time even I did not use the fullscreen mode. I guess this behavior happened first time two or three final builds before.

My biggest problem is that I can't open a Geocache anymore and I did not yet find any real workaround. Sometimes it helped to set another point near the Geocache and then when I try to open it I get a menu which asks me which one of the points I want to open. That sometimes help.

Also when I try to jump from the childwaypoint to the main cache nothing happens. But not always only when the problems start.

And then sometimes my menu changes see attached screenshot.

I don't know what's up with the app but it has some strange behaviour but it also may run without any problems.

It looks like the overall performance is better without the fullscreen.

Currently I'm afraid using the app because of the very strange behavior which I never had all these years I am using locus.

BTW I uninstalled the 3.5 Pro because I first thought there is problem with the coexistence but this did not help.

Thank you for the explanation.

I consulted Menion about your problem with Geocache, but unfortunately it has no solution. We are not able to simulate the problem.

However, they will try to program some change in the next Beta version that might help.

Two days ago I was a full day out for Geocaching - with disabled full screen I had no problems with locus. Currently I would say on my device the problem is full screen dependent.

Dear Andrea,

since I disabled the full screen mode it worked like a charm.

After the new release yesterday I enabled it back again. I'll do some testing over the weekend.

The app cannot be used in full screen. The error still persists. I also believe that the bug is no longer being worked on. Suggestion: Remove the full screen option from the app.

Hello Andrea,

just a short update. The performance in full screen as normal the last two days and also the track recording was normal. But on the cache details there are missing buttons or areas - see screenshots. This behavior I only had in full screen mode.

Hi guys,

complicated task. We are using/testing full-screen on several devices and unfortunately, we are unable to simulate any problem with it.

My only suggestion is = do not to use it if it causes troubles just on your device. As I know, the side recording panel problems does not appear anymore. Thanks for understanding.

With the new beta, the problem is gone for me.
