Export a track and photos in a unique kmz file

Thierry Rouby shared this question 3 years ago
Answered

I did what is required in the users manual, but I obtained only the track without any photo in the Onedrive file where I exported the kmz file.

I tried also to change an image parameter in the config.cfg file as it was suggested in an old topic, but my config.cfg is recent and has no more this item.

My phone is a Galaxy A5, with Android 8.0, and Locus Map 4.3 Silver

Thanks for your help

To Wolfgang

I only use LM4 since it was at our disposal. I uninstalled LMP at the same time. As far as I remember, LMP was also unable to export track and photos in a single kmz file.

Yes, "Including description and attachments" is actually marked.

I did not find any item "settings/expert settings/import export>Photo width in config.cfg file. Neither in Settings in the Menu. Where can I find it? What is your advice concerning width or size ?

Many thanks

I succeeded in opening expert settings. For me the exported photos width is set to 60px. When I take a photo during a walk (yesterday for example), the size of the photo stored in Locus/data/media/photos is about 5Mo. What is the relationship between these two figures : is there any problem of mismatch, or possibly of bad location of the photos file in the directory of the smarphone ?

default 60px is the width of the exported photo, so photo it is displayed very smal if you double click it e.g. on GoogleEarth

I set it to 300px for me.

Questions.

did you take your photos with the button inside the recording window? or did you take it direct with the phone-camera?

if you took it while recording with this button you should find the photos under

locus/data/media/photo with name T_20210906_xxx.jpg in the original resolution

Hello,

I changed photowidth to 300 px, restarted LM4, retried to export : no change

I take my photos according to the good method, the photos are stored in locus/data/media/photo with name P_210906_132610.jpg

I tried also to share the exported file, selecting "share" and "definition and attachments" : the kmz is always the same, without attachments

I am a little bit worry about our inability to find out the origin of the disease.

Hello Tierry

photo name beginning with P- belong to a point

so use at next time while track recording following button add photos to track

0875b7283c680da16065565afb05ab45

if you want to merge your photos to the track from yesterday i see two possibilities:

install Locus 3.5 beside LM4 this is no problem!

Unfortunately, this option is no longer available in LM4.

- next hide all pois and tracks

- display only your track and the assiciated pois with photos

on map

- open menu/more options/share

scroll down to last option

or alternatively on PC use

Hey guys, the "All as KMZ" sharing option is of course available also in LM 4. And it exports media files as well.

Thanks Michal

i had not discovered it, it is one click more in LM4

it depends on your settings... by default it is two clicks - menu > share. When you put it in a function panel, it's just one click.

Hi guys,

I tried the process you explained with LM4 using one track in two segments and one phto only. I have now a kmz file with two segments and 18 POIs, stored in Mainstorage/Locus/export and not in SDcard/Locus/export.

This file includes many POIs linked to the map itself and not to my photos, as well a list of directions allowing to follow the track. So it as to be cleaned in orderto be read for example by Google Earth.

Nevertheless I appreciate this large step of progress.

Thank you.

Hi

# This file includes many POIs linked to the map itself and not to my photos

please take a look down left inside "map content" button

are there LoPoints online and/or offline activated?

Yes, you are right, Lopoints (on and offline) were included. I will take care of this for my future exports.

Thank you
