No option to connect external gps

W vol shared this problem 3 years ago
Solved

I want to couple my locus maps pro running on my motor g8 to my qstarz 1000xt.

When I try in the external gps menu I see the option gps device but it won't let me select the device itself... I also do not see the checkbox to select external gps.

I have a free version on an older tablet which does give me that option and I can connect without issues using that.

Could you help me identify why it is not working on the phone?

Hello,

May you please as first step, restart your device and try it again?

This can usually help.

Have a nice day

Hi

Thanks for the reply. I had some phone updates as well so phone was restarted a few times but same problem persists...

I also installed the pro version on the tablet where my older free version of locus maps was working with my external gps and tried there but with the same result.

In both cases the checkbox for the external gps does not show and my gps does not get connected...

The free version on my tablet was a version 3.33 and here it works first try...

Find "qstarz 1000xt" in bluetooth manager

Then select it like the captured picture

I have used Garmin GLO and Samsung Xcover 4 with Locus Map Pro for years. Today I found that I have no control to the external BT GPS. The Bluetooth manager does not let me select the device as a GPS but it let me select the device as a NMEA reader. What I can do?
