locus pro 3 external dem folders
Answered
Hi,
locus pro 3 has the ability to use internal map folder and external map folder. Not necessary to be at sd card, only to internal memory. With this option and without to move the map files we can have 2 or more folders, for example one into the app folder and a second one into android shared memory.
Can we do the same also for the dem data ? If yes, how?
Hi,
starting with Android 5 Locus Map can use any storage space for offline elevation data. By default, the data is stored in /Locus/data/srtm/ directory. This directory, however, can be placed anywhere else. Only you have to define the new path to it in Locus settings > Miscellaneous > Default directories. Hi Michal,
as i wrote to my question, i don't want to move the data from folder 1 to folder 2. The link you suggest, i had read it before visit the forum. But i could not found those screenshots into my last version of Locus Map Pro 3.55.1
Into my version says that the data will be moved from filesystem actions ... etc. I don't need this action.

Hi,
I'm not sure if I understand correctly... are you asking about the new filesystem solution? It concerns only Android 11 devices - Beginning with 1.11.2021, Android 11, unfortunately, forbids the apps entering the core of the internal memory - only the app's private folder in Android/data directory is allowed. Therefore we recommend transferring Locus main directory to the private folder now.

Hi,
it is not possible to have two or more folders for SRTM data. Locus can read only from one. The one can be placed anywhere in Android older than 11 but you have to define the path to it in Locus settings. In Android 11 it can be placed only in the app's private folder or on the external SD card.
