Locus 4.5.7: missing offline maps

Pablo shared this problem 2 years ago
Solved

I bought a few LoMaps maps some time ago.

Today I installed a fresh copy of Locus 4.5.7 (latest one).

I gave it permission for media files.

I went to map manager -> offline -> download offline maps -> logged in -> downloaded the maps I had bought before.

When I went back to map manager -> offline I saw an empty list.

Uninstalled the app and followed the step above but still the same.

I am on Android 11.

Can you advise please.

Did you check with x-plore or Solid Explorer where the downloads ended up?

The main directory is set to the app directory (/storage/emulated/10/Android/data/menion.android.locus/files/Locus) and the app has already got access to that directory.

I gave Locus a special permission to "manage all files" but the "map manager -> offline" screen still doesn't show any map (as seen on the attached screenshot).

Did you check the file system with x-plore or S.E. to see the reality?

I've checked the folder.

There are *.osm.db and *.osm.map map files in /storage/emulated/10/Android/data/menion.android.locus/files/Locus/mapsVector/europe

I do have an SD card in my phone.

It's been unmounted (ejected) all the time.

There is data on it (unrelated to Locus).

Thanks.

Are you planning to fix it in the next release?

The scenario is more complex.

I've the app installed in the work profile which doesn't have access to SD card by default.

That's probably the reason why the app doesn't display offline maps.

I've reinstalled the app in the personal profile.

As you said with the card unmounted I can't see any map.

When I mount the card the offline maps get listed.

Hopefully the fix will also cover the work profile scenario.
