Ordnance Survey OpenData 1:250 000

I just started using Locus Map 4 (Ex ViewRanger user that does not like Outdoor Active) - so far I am very impressed once not too intimidated by complexity.

Is it possible for the free UK Ordnance survey 1:250 000 map to be made available? Preferably from Lotus Store, else by importing the TIF images (as can be done with Alpine Quest)?

And preferably as an extra zoom layer in the 25k and 50k maps which can be bought in the store.

I saw this question was answere NO 6 years ago, but hoped it might have changed with the newer version of Locus.

Isnt that there in the online maps of UK

called OS Street View

i thought this was the same one as viewranger free overview map.

remember to check out john thorn maps, these are based on OS data, but you can purchase whole of GB for one price

Yes, same 1:250k map as in VR. One of many annoying aspects of OA is that you can't download all of it - only as part of downloading all scales for a fairly small area.

i would recommend sticking with locus , i used viewranger for a few years a while back, went back to locus, only reason i used VR was to sync between small phone and tablet, but locus now has sync. the track/route/point organisation is much better than VR, the only things better in VR so far is finding new routes to try, and the skyline mode, but you can export a track to google earth easily. the AR mode of VR has the track showing, whereas locus only has points, development of AR is on hold at the moment. Do a search for OS Street View in the maps and give that a go, personally i only ever used the VR natove maps because of the colour scheme, but the OSM maps are very similar.

The OS maps which can be bought in the Locus Store contains the OpenData 1:250k layer.

There are also maps from John Thorn (Great Britain All by JohnThornMap) that combines OSM and OS Free vector data)

Thanks, Petr
