you are victim of the hyper-optimization of your Android.
Depending on the brand and Android version, there are different mechanics and settings. In principle it is all about battery optimizations. In addition you should set Locus to running as a services (Locus settings has a search function ...)

Hi, please get Locus Map permission for all-time access to location and exclude Locus from all means of battery optimization so that the app can run in the background. Tried everything, even installed GPS locker.
I've found no Battery Optimization function in Samsung S10 Android 12.
The only solution - I abandoned Locus Pro (paid earlier) and paid again, now for annual subscription for Locus Map 4, which has meanwile no problems with this issue. Michael
