Locus Maps 4 and track recording bottom control

In version 3, there is an option to switch the control to the bottom. Is this available in 4? I am having trouble finding it.

A larger question I'm trying to figure out is whether a 4 subscription is worth it to me. I can a current 3 pro user so a subscription would be a substantial increase in cost give it is forever. I'm currently just trying to see if I can do everything I can do in 3 on 4. Then if anything is fixed. My usage is different than most. I am a frequent flyer and I use it to record GPS tracks for every flight I am on. Thus the tracks feature is what I'm mostly concerned with. There are some bugs/features that the locus team has refused to fix (ie, track display across date line, drawing of tracks to download maps not following great circle, aviation waypoints), because they feel it is too far outside the scope of the app's intended use. This ofcourse makes me even less inclined to spend more money on this app. The only web viewer for tracks is intriguing, but it unfortunately requires the 24EUR/yr plan. Otherwise all the other features (offline routing, etc) is not of much use to me.

Track recording can be assigned to a button in any of the panels (left, bottom, right) - same as LM3 from memory. I hide the on-map track recording & instead have the button in a function panel. I can provide more info if you need it.

Hi,

there is only one track recording panel in LM 4 (sliding from the left side) but you can control the recording also from a widget (available in two sizes also in the free tier). There are no plans to add the features you request to the LM 4 either - it is primarily a hiking/biking app.

All in all, you can go on with Locus Map Classic, we'll go on updating and maintaining it.

I refer to the actual panel. In 3, there is an option to have it on the bottom. I believe it is called "compact bottom panel". This has nothing to do with aviation.

As for aviation, in track recording, you do have a pre-set profile called "gliding". The picture is for hang gliding which can go for a few hundred miles for long distance hang gliding so correctly drawing a great circle line vs a straight line makes some difference at that distance. You already do it when turning on "Guide". That draws it correctly. I don't know why the heading line and the lines for drawing a track in map download is done wrong. As for the date line, if one were hiking in antartica, they can easily cross the date line. Also one could easily hang glide the 1mi distance across the date line between islands to cross the date line

Hi,

"I refer to the actual panel. In 3, there is an option to have it on the bottom. I believe it is called "compact bottom panel"."

- this option is not available in Locus Map 4. You can have only the left-side slide-out panel or you can add track recording controls to a custom dashboard

As for your other objections, I'm sorry but I'm afraid your requests are quite on the very margin of the usecases Locus Map is trying to cover now. At the moment, our team has quite a lot of other more urgent tasks to do. Nevertheless, we do register your requests and keep them in mind for the future. Thanks for understanding.
