Smart watch connection problems

Solved

I love Locus Map, recommend it also on my internet pages (for hiking).

But why did you stop delelopment for smart watches (Samsung)? It's absolutely great, when it works, I impressed a lot of friends, but it has plenty of communication problems (Bluetooth), now I even can't re-install it anymore.

Apparently it's not in the (Android) PlayStore anymore.

The samsung watch OS is only one type of smartwatch, so if there are a small amount of locus users who use both locus AND a samsung smartwatch specifically, it may not be time efficient when there are other priorities....i suspect.

Thanks for your fast response.

Samsung is one of the most prominent smart watches.

Which smart watch do you then recommend for working with Locus Map?

Thanks

ive used a LG G watch , wih had wearOS 1, and it worked quite nicely.

currently have an amazfir trex, and only locus integration is mapping the watch buttons to tasker to launch locus compass, and get navigation text notifications.

if you had a full android smartwatch, like ticwris max, or lemfo lemt, or rogbid king

as they are running full android, you can install full locus on them and get all the features, and with LM4 and gold subscription, you can sync tracks and data back and forth.

Thats what im tempted to get, dont know anyone that has run locus on a full android eatch tho.

you might eb abel to get it the missing app from here

Hi,

for the Wear OS smartwatches, Locus Map Watch add-on is available at Google Play: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.asamm.locus.addon.wear. For the Tizen watches it is available at https://galaxystore.samsung.com/geardetail/com.asamm.locus.addon.gear?langCd=en. We've been experiencing some problems with the gear add-on on Android 12 devices, we're solving it. Sorry for the inconvenience, if it is also your issue.

For smooth communication between the app and the smartwatch, please make sure Locus is completely excluded from all means of battery optimization - otherwise, it can't communicate in the background and the connection is disrupted.
