Custom button mapping

Alex shared this problem 22 months ago
Solved

Have a controller for when I'm using the maps on the bike, it seems that when entering the number code for the button (in the pro menu) locus isn't seeing them so I can't use the controller.

I think you mean control the locus map with the controller (move map, screen on/off, center map...) ?
What phone do you have and what android version?

exactly that Sorry if i didnt describe it correctly. I have the Samsung active tablet 3, and its running the latest android 13

I have a handlebar control with buttons that I should be able to map to locus with custom numbers given by a mapping software, but locus seems not to be recognising the inputs for some reason.

This is the video i followed for reference

Thank you so much

I have a Xiaomi and everything still worked perfectly with MIUI 12. Then came MIUI 12.5 and 13 with Android 12 and the phone no longer recognizes any buttons. For me it is the phone and not Android. I could read the keys code with the old operating system with an app and then assign Locus accordingly. But now when I press the buttons the app can no longer recognize codes. The controller is connected but the phone no longer reads the code. And if the phone doesn't have a code, it can't pass one to Locus. Maybe it's also your phone or tablet.

hmm, that's really weird as my tablet still recognises the controller it's just in locus maps, it doesn't do a thing, well it does, but just the wrong thing. I use an app called code mapper, and that all work with opening and closing app, and controlling things. but just when it comes to locus, nothing happens - its very odd

used this video for reference and tutorial on it but seems not to work now-

What app is that exactly. Please link
Does it still work with the Code Mapper ? Do you still get the code displayed via the app.

It's called button mapper. You connect to it then click a button and it gives you a code / number

Thanks. Have you tried again with the latest update? Trying to capture the code with the buttonmapper to see if that still works.

Hi guys,

interesting discussion and nice video Alex, thanks for it. It is so complicated to set a custom keys when i see it in the video :/.

@freischneider, it really stopped just with the new MIUI? Ah, this is stupid! If the same problem is also in other apps, there is hardly something I may do.
