Automatic and manual backup does not work

Hi there,
I've been trying to set up an automatic backup on two different accounts and keep running into failures. The automatic backup tries to initiate but pauses indefinitely, while manual attempts come up with a 'working' pop-up which disappears before anything seems to happen. I've attached some screenshots for reference.
Any help with this issue would be greatly appreciated, as I'd like to set up an automatic backup to keep tracks safe.

please, check if you don't have the "only on wifi" setting turned on. It is usual behavior when wifi is not connected or is weak. The backup is scheduled but has not proceeded.
"Menu > Settings > Misc. > Wifi-only data transfer"
