Two options for auto-pause are confusing
Not a Problem
In the recording profile there are two options:
1) "Auto-pause - pause recording automaticaly when not moving"
2) "Record only when moving - pause recording when movement stops"
well, description of options is conflusing. it's hard to see the difference between them.
also, auto-pause option is missing from the manual https://docs.locusmap.eu/doku.php?id=manual:user_guide:tracks:recording:profiles_settings
Hi,
according to the head dev, the "Auto-pause" is an experimental option, so far not functioning reliably on all devices. It detects movement based on all available phone sensors. The other option "Record only when moving" stops recording when the speed measured by GPS is zero or close to zero. When we manage to fine-tune the first option and it runs reliably on all devices, it'll replace the second simpler option.
The link you provided leads to the manual of Locus Map Classic in which the "Auto-pause" option is not available.

I see. So there is https://docs.locusmap.app/ with newest manual for locus 4, and https://docs.locusmap.eu/ with obsolete manual (for locus classic).
When I google something, say, "locus Recording Profiles Settings" I am getting old manual with obsolete data (see screenshot). And one is unable to say if it's old manual or new. There is no information about version in the manual. There is no way to understand that it's wrong manual or even that there are two versions of manual.

"When I google something, say, "locus Recording Profiles Settings" I am getting old manual"
- that is probably because the LM Classic manual is online for ten years so it is better indexed whereas the manual for LM4 exists only for two years.
"one is unable to say if it's old manual or new"
- LM Classic manual has the LM Classic logo on its header:
- LM 4 manual has the LM 4 logo on its header:
"There is no way to understand that it's wrong manual or even that there are two versions of manual."
- according to our analytics, the great majority of the manual readers are coming from the app. LM Classic app is linked to the LM Classic manual, LM4 app is linked to LM4 manual.
