New Lomaps - missing tags.

Hello,

the new Lomaps do not have very useful tags - "ford=yes" and "man_made=pipeline" (they also sometimes help to cross rivers, so I would like to see this on the map).

Please add these tags to the next issue of maps if possible.

Thank you.

Hello,

thank you for the idea. We added these tags into tag-mapping files for LoMaps maps. We also added location=overhead and location=overground that can help to display the pipeline only if above ground.

Thanks, Petr

I found another problem. There are no island names if this name is specified not directly ("place=island"), but through "Relations" (type=multipolygon).

Examples:

and no tags

man_made=groyne

man_made=breakwater

Hi,

man_made=groyne, breakwater added.

Missing places are very likely caused by Mapsforge limitation. Mapsforge writer doesn't process the relations except several types. When relation with type=multipolygon should be recognized. I'll check it later because there is probably some "bug"

This island is available in the map https://www.openstreetmap.org/relation/7667728 but this is missing https://www.openstreetmap.org/relation/15028141

And a few more tags please.
1. via_ferrata_scale="*" (many via_ferrata are marked as highway=path + via_ferrata_scale="*"

For example

https://www.openstreetmap.org/#map=19/47.55209/12.96413

https://www.openstreetmap.org/#map=19/47.58089/13.02377

2. sport=climbing (and maybe some related difficulty tags). On the map, these routes are not displayed in any way and empty places are obtained.

For example

https://www.openstreetmap.org/#map=19/47.54744/12.9266
https://www.openstreetmap.org/#map=19/47.54583/12.92394

Thank you.

ps. Please tell me, do you have any kind of schedule for card releases? When will the next update be approximately?

No tags yet:
building=wall
archaeological_site=building
historic=archaeological_site

natural=ridge

Maybe add the "zoo=*" tag as well? I would like to distinguish between "zoos". Sometimes it's just a few birds, not many different animals.

Hi,
`via_ferrata_scale=0-6` -added
`sport=climbing` - added
`building=wall` - added but it doesn't seem to be officially supported
`archaeological_site=building` - I'm sorry but what's the reason for this tag? again it doesn't seem to be officially supported
`historic=archaeological_site` - added
`zoo=` added according to https://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/Tag:tourism%3Dzoo

The new maps should be available in the next 14 days (new tags only for Europe)

Peter, thank you very much!

"new tags only for Europe" - what does it mean? For other countries later?

The new version of LoMaps will probably be released during the following week. The maps for Asia, Americas, Africa are already generated but with old tag-mapping definition. Europe is generating right now with updated tag-mapping file (contains your changes)

Petr hello,

if possible, please add these tags - "natural=arete", "mtb:name=*" (I'm not sure if this is officially accepted, but it occurs in many places, i want to show the names of such tracks) and "leisure=fitness_station".

Thank you.

Hello Petr,

is there a way to distinguish lomaps from oam maps in my theme?
maybe there is a special tag for the card manufacturer?

photo
2

Hello,
I'm sorry but it isn't possible to distinguish between OAM and LoMaps (as john_pearcy posted on forum). I also added the requested "natural=arete", "mtb:name=*" and "leisure=fitness_station".

Regards
Petr

Hello Petr,

could you please bring back the "bridge=boardwalk" tag? In the map from June this tag was still there and I used it successfully.

Hi,
we've merged all types of bridges to value "yes" but you're right the boardwalk should be tagged separately. We'll be improved in the next LoMaps.
Petr
