Individual Symbols in Web Planer

Answered

Individual Symbols for Points, Tracks and Folders that are used in the App (Locus Maps 4) are not available in the Web Planer. Only Standard Locus Symbols are available.

Is it possible to make the usage of symbols similar in both solutions so the UX gets more harmonized?

Hello,

currently only the default set of icons is supported. The custom icons depends on the larger sync service update and even it is planned, there is no ETA right now.

For now you can only change the icons to be from the default library.

Ok, thank you for clarification.

So it is important to mind that the web planer is more a viewing tool at the moment instead of a full editing tool and editing will have restrictions...

In web planer there is anyway no possibility to edit icons of a point-track. So editing details (description, altitude etc.) in webplaner will cause the loss of such symbol information. The export from webplaner doesn't include the Locus App information. Example from Exported gpx in App:

<sym>t_car_hscc</sym>

<extensions><locus:icon>file:Mono.zip:t_car_hscc.png</locus:icon>

I am ok with that (to know that I an set focus on the capabilities of the app instead of the web planer). And by the way: the app is great! Thank you for this mighty App!

Hello,

yes, exactly. The Web planner is mainly the helping tool with "large display" and it is also presented this way.

We are continuously working on it, but web environment never will be capable of everything what app can do.

The best practice is probably create a route on large display in web planner and then import/sync it into the app and let it recalculate it with all the details and options.

Or they use the app on the PC screen. Samsung has the DEX function and other manufacturers are also working on it. Windows and google are also trying. With Windows, the display is possible, but the operation with the mouse is still missing. Possibly this can also be good, but I have not tested it yet. https://stadt-bremerhaven.de/intel-unison-windows-programm-verbindet-das-smartphone-mit-eurem-pc/
