Strava export - Sport types

Hello,
I see the declined request for new actvity types, which I support and would love to see in the app. Your reasoning is firm, so I'd suggest a different route. Strava API recommends using SportType instead of ActivityType several times in the docs. The Sport type contains all new activity types like MountainBikeRide etc.
Can you use it to export the activity to Strava?

Strange that the other post is "locked". I've not seen this lock on comments before. I would have commented there (as have done in similar topics) that a fully generalized system of user defined activity types with own parameters for average speed (up/ down hills), stopped times etc. would be great.
