Not a Problem
MAPS-4 App on Android 8:
Startup sequence very slow.
Reason:
Restore of Tracks and caches from previous session.
What can I do to fasten startup?
Preferences?
Is SD-Card as local Storage faster?
Can I set storage folder to SD-Card as local Storage place for Tracks & Caches?

Do you have a lot of points and tracks displayed? That makes the start very slow. If I display all my 5000 tracks and then start, it takes a very long time. If I hide them, it goes very quickly.
Some things are slower on the external SD. I have saved everything on the internal SD.

Hi Robert,
there are a few factors that slow down the app initialization:
- too many tracks, routes and points activated on the map
- big KMZ files activated on the map
- map overlays
More about improving the app's performance: https://docs.locusmap.app/doku.php?id=manual:faq:locus_performance
As for the external SD card - it is possible to use it as the main storage for the app or some of its subdirectories but we don't recommend it. The SD card file system is not designed for fast database reading/writing and the data may quickly deteriorate. Which may result in data inaccessibility.
