Navigating a predefined route if you leave ist ....

The problem is that while navigating a predefined route - which is great if you follow it exactly as it is - you leave it for whatever reason and the mobile app starts a recalculation (it is set to return to the route - "route priority" and deviation 50m) the newly calculated route in my case led me three times in circles around the next waypoint...
The only solution was to set "No recalculation" and not to set the cursor to fix on the route.
After a track deviation, the track deviation is announced. When you are then back on the predefined route, no more turn announcements are made. The display of the remaining KM to the destination also increases instead of decreasing...

Funny also my maximum speed...

"Solution" - call up the route again.... Then the KM indication to the destination is correct and the turn announcements are made again.

I have Komoot and Strava running at the same time, which also record. For example, the VMAX was correct (56 kmh and not 769 kmh!)
The recording of the route was correct in all three apps.

Sometimes the app doesn't seem to know which direction I should go (if the start and finish are the same and the same route leads from and to the start/finish). Then the direction of travel is shown correctly on the display, including that I should now turn RIGHT, but it says "turn left" (if I came in the other direction, it would be left)....

Hello olliz,

thanks for the description of the problem, unfortunately just from this, I'm unable to simulate it on my own device = unable to fix it.

If you start navigation at home and immediately after starting, you turn off the GPS in the Locus Map app, you should be able to simulate your movement with the center cross. With this, you should be able to simulate issue you have. If so, a short video with clearly visible problems will be very useful. Thanks!

See here: https://forum.locusmap.eu/index.php?topic=8981.msg76080#msg76080

Here you can see three screenshots of what I meant by "leading in circles".

The fact that after a deviation from the route - I set 50 meters to receive a hint - no more turn-by-turn instructions are given and I therefore have to reload the route is supposedly because the system then switches to route guidance, which is not reset even if I reach the defined route again.

Thanks. As I see, a lot of streets in this area are one-way, so the combination of the "Route priority" recalculation, it may cause problems you see. Could you please share with me the original route, best as a link over our web (bottom "Share" button in the track detail > Share by link), thanks.

Here the original route: https://link.locusmap.app/t/mpgj6n

And here the recording: https://link.locusmap.app/t/pwj9px

the deviation occurred because I wanted to drive like this (red line): https://forum.locusmap.eu/index.php?action=dlattach;attach=13882;image

Thanks. Why do you take another round here? It is not perfectly clear to me, what happened there and why your recording is so "complicated" compared to the originally planned route.

Please keep in mind, that "Recompute with Route priority" works really simply > it detects the nearest point on the track (based on the straight distance) and computes the route between your current location and the found trackpoint. After that, the route before the nearest point is removed and new is computed and the rest of the old is merged into one. This may of course cause problems in cities with one-way roads. In these cases, the best is to stop and check the map manually ...

Well, the road on the original route was impassable because a truck was loading. So I thought "whatever, I'll just drive against the one-way street" ....

Anyway, I have now completely deactivated the automatic recalculation - the calculation to the destination is also better but only takes me on the road, even though there are cycle paths...
