Route planner sets destination instead of start location

Solved

Not critical, but still a bug from my point of view:

  1. Press „Navigate“ without selected destination -> Route planer starts with a window to select the destination.
  2. Close this window without making an input ->

  3. Delete Start ("Warte auf GPS.") via 3-dot menu ->

  4. Tap on “select start" ("Start auswählen") -> Window to select the start opens
  5. Select a location -> Location is used as destination instead of starting point

Hi,

sorry, unable to simulate the issue according to your instructions...

Hi Michal,

I think it is overhasty setting the status to “not a problem” just because you can not reproduce the issue immediately. I see the behavior on two different phones, one running Android 10 and the other Android 14. I think you didn’t follow the steps accurately enough. Are you sure that in step 3 gps was still searching for the current position ("Warte auf GPS")? It is essential to delete the starting point in that phase. See attached screen recording.

GuRa is right, I can confirm the bug and find the description clear:

1. Click "navigate to".

2 .Close "select destination" screen without selection.

3. Delete "Waiting for GPS". "Select start" appears instead.

4. Select start.

5. Selected start will be set as destination.

This always happens, it's easy to reproduce.

This reminds me of this earlier bug that was fixed:

Perhaps this particular case has not been fixed.

Hi,

I've finally managed to simulate the issue on an old tablet with a weak GPS chip - the app must be in the "waiting for GPS" state and I wasn't able to get the state even in the cellar of my house... Forwarded to the devs.
