Wrong altitude at few points
Answered
When recording a track, every once in a while Locus records a wrong altitude for one or a few points. This leads to a completely wrong overall height in the summary of a track.
I checked some of the entries in this board and tried several settings in the app, without success.
I am pretty sure it's a bug in the app or at least something that can be solved in the app. Here's why:
- I had this issue with my old phone, and now with my new phone, too. So it does not seem to be an issue with the device.
- The recording of the longitudinal and lateral position works perfect! So when the GPS of the device would record a wrong altitude, it would be highly probable that the position would be wrong, too.
Anyway, the GPS-positioning seems to work perfectly well. - Around 80-90% of all wrong points are at a much lower altitude. With a wrong recording of the device I would expect about 50% higher and lower.
- I checked with another app in parallel, that recording is fine.
I'd rather use Locus, but if this problem continues to exists, I will have to switch.
Hi,
please go to Locus settings > GPS&sensors > Altitude manager > Settings tab > Elevation data > select "Replace GPS values". In the Altitude filter sector, choose "Heavy filter":

I would advise you to use the very accurate 1” LIDAR elevation data from Sonny. This will make the replacement even better. And activate the barometer as a test if you have one.
