Device disconnect alarm

Hi,

I recently lost my garmin varia on a tour - and did not notice it until much later. So it was gone for good.

This brought me to the idea: It would be cool to have a (accoustic) alarm (loud, noticable) if the varia gets disconnected (e.g. during track recording, configurable). This way I would have noticed, that my varia fell of much earlier and so probably would have been able to search and find it.

But then an alarm would also be triggered if the radar was deactivated or the BT connection was simply interrupted...

In principle yes. Regarding disruptions, a timeout (30s for example) can mitigate it.

If you use this clip for the saddlebag, which unfortunately can come loose - tip: secure it with a cable tie. I drilled a hole at the bottom and put a cable tie through it so that the clip can no longer slide upwards and I can't lose my radar.

Hi guys,

I agree that this may be a usable improvement for all connected devices. I've renamed this idea to be more "generic".

I hope more votes will appear :)

Hi,
I agree.

It was just that the Varia was the only thing I ever lost on the road ;-)
