Can't import data to new phone
Not a Problem
I am following this guide to transfer data from old to new phone https://docs.locusmap.app/doku.php?id=manual:faq:move_to_new_phone
Both applications are 4.26.3, export was fine, but no matter how many times and approaches I tried to copy (just in case data got corrupted), it always fails with "This is not a correct folder" error after several minutes to an hour of "Calculating size"
I am selecting the folder on new phone by going into it, clicking select and allow access.
All together it is about 15 GB of data - maps and points
What else I can try to transfer my Locus? I need mainly the settings as maps can be downloaded and points should get synchronized from cloud.
Thanks

Hi,
what version of Android do you have and what method did you apply? Did you use the "Unload/Load app data" option?

Hi,
I used the "Unload/Load app data" as described in the linked documentation for Android 11+.
Old phone (where I was able to re import fine) is Android 11, new phone is Android 14

Difficult to say what can be the cause of the problem. Nevertheless, as you wrote that you don't need maps to be transferred, you can make a backup on the first phone and restore it on the second.

Found one system update, will try load data after. If still not working, will do the backup and download maps later manually.
It would be nice to see more descriptive error than just "this doesn't seem to be Locus data folder".
Thanks

"This doesn't seem to be Locus data folder" appears when the app doesn't find all the elements originally present in the unloaded app directory. As I don't have a view of the original directory and the unloaded directory, I can't evaluate to what extent the error message is true or not.

Did some experiments and found the issue. Old phone exported empty folders which were "rejected" by the new phone when copying. After manual creation of missing empty folders it looks working.
