Ignore space characters for title in Search in tracks

I was trying to find an old track without success (or it took too long & hence this idea). The track to find has a description (say) "test" - without the quote characters. But if I Search in tracks (as below), with "Search also in descriptions" & paste or type "test " (note trailing space character) into the textbox, the track is not found - duh. A) it would be good to perform a free text search B) at least trim leading and trailing spaces characters before doing the search. The trailing space meant the track was not found! Surely not intuitive.

Hello Andrew,

I believe that in the most recent Beta version of the new My Library, this is already solved.

Yes it is. 🙂

Thanks, confirmed. RC12. It also seems to be faster too? Previously when typing first few characters the tablet virtually "locked up".

Is it possible. The search system, as well as many older features, was written completely new. Well, full-text search will still be slow as hell, just warning :)

Menion - full-text search (FTS) - slow, maybe, but if I have a track named "word1 word2" and search for just "word2" I presume it will *only* be found if FTS is used, correct? I'm more than happy if slow(er) if the search functionality is more user friendly ;-)

Nono, "full-text" in this case means, that app loads binary data for every item! and searches in the description, comment, and in the case of geocaching also cache listing. These data are not directly available in the database but are stored in raw bytes. That's why it is so slow. Anyway search in the names should be very fast now!
