A quicker way to display info about all trackpoints

As far as I know, to display trackpoint info such as

755afd46c8b6047ad7fc918fda0bf967

for a recorded track, requires the following steps:

  1. unhide track
  2. return to the map
  3. tap track on map
  4. tap (i) icon at LHS from bottom menu

It is not possible to access this trackpoint info directly from the track list. You have to unhide the track > view > re-hide the track.

How about from the track list

  1. tap track
  2. tap bottom menu (RHS) "dot-dot-dot"
  3. tap Tools
  4. tap (new) "Info" menu item (same level as Update, Analyzer, Weather, Compute etc.)

Maybe there is already a better way but I haven't found it?

You want to see the info for a specific trackpoint on your track. This is the one you clicked on the visible track on the map (no. 97).

How should the desired trackpoint in a track be selected from the list using your proposed method?

Sorry I didn't explain myself better. The info in the above screen cap is not just for one point; it is for ANY point along the track. So track > menu > Tools > Info would display the above track info for point 1 & then possible to advance/ retreat with same UI. It simply means fast access direct from the list of tracks instead of having to make visible, go to the map, check, make invisible. I hope that makes more sense.

With your 2nd suggestion it is also 4 clicks. So you haven't saved anything.
Nor is it any faster. Because you only have one click. The first 3 are there to tell Locus which track point, you can't save them.
Unless Locus could start reading our thoughts.

Hopefully my reply to Graf Geo further explains? It's not just about saving taps. It's about the unintuitive method of finding the info. My most common use-case for any historical track is to recall the starting and stopping time of the recording. So ideally track > menu > Tools > Info > 1st point shows start timestamp, then long tap on "fast forward" shows the stop timestamp.

@freischneider - it's not just about # taps - if I want to find out the start or end time of any recorded track, it isn't intuitive that you have to display it on the map first. Another method, previously discussed year+ ago, would be extended track statistics.

Andrew, in other words you want the itinerary ( and other trac tools) to be available from the tracks in the library

That sounds a good idea....

what about long press on a track?

Itinerary? No more than info in the screen cap. As per my 2 replies. It's just the workflow/ use-case of how to get to that info. At present for a track not visible on the map, the method to get the start/stop date/time info is not intuitive.

Maybe the question/ suggestion should have been "quicker way to display trackpoint info". I want more intuitive access to the same user interface in the screen cap from the track list without having to make track visible > get info > make track invisible. It's not intuitive when you just want to find out date/time of start/stop, for example. The "minimap" view at the top of the dialog of the current point is more than sufficient.

Allright Andrew H., now I understand your question. Thanks for the clarification.

playing around wit this ive found several UI issues which i think includes Andrews

1. From a track in the library, you cant go straight to the track detail, as in all you can do is show the track, then you have to show the main map then you have to select it on the map to bring up track info, you should be able to go straight to track info from library...

2 to be able to bring up the itinerary from the track in library

3 when you are viewing a trackpoint detail, it mentions the track name, , but from trackpoint detail there is no way to o straight to the track detail, you have to manually select it on the map...

4 Bug...if you select the track first from picking on the map, a search of nearby items shows, track points and also parent track, tyou can choose from the list track name, track detail pops up, but if you selct a trackpoint instead, track detail pops up, this is fine but if you then choose another bit of track ( and search of trackpoints and track name show) and try and choose the main track by clicking on the track name you cant, it just goes to a nearby trackpoint instead.....

5. when you choose a trackpoint from itinerary, it just highlights the trackpoint label, it should instead go straight to trackpoint detail...

These might be different ideas, but they all are part of track UI...
