The planner. It is not possible to move the VIA point.

If you create a VIA point in the scheduler and then move it, it will turn into an auxiliary point. The previously entered VIA point name will be deleted.

In version 3, the same story, only the name of the VIA point is not deleted.

Hi,

this is perfectly normal behavior. A via point is firmly linked to the location and description - it bears some important information. When it is moved, this link is aborted and the information is no longer relevant because the location changes.

In version 3, moving the VIA point does not result in loss of information. Yes, it changes to an auxiliary point, but that's all. The fact that the dot was changing its appearance was annoying. But still, everything could be done with just one action to make the auxiliary point a VIA point again.

In version 4, when you move a point, its name is deleted, but the comment is not deleted. It seems to me that there is a flaw in the program, since there is no logic in such a result.

In practice, when creating a large route, VIA points have to be moved and moved quite often. Such movements are often insignificant in terms of distance and cannot affect the relevance of the information in any way.

The logic of the program cannot provide for human goals. Let's not delete the information that the user entered. If I made a VIA point manually, then it is logical to expect that I will be responsible for it (delete\ move\edit).

Result:

Version 4 has become worse in terms of moving the VIA point. She deletes my information and I have to enter this information many times.

I propose to reconsider the logic of working with the VIA point. The VIA point should not change its shape and content if such a point is moved.

So it's still a problem. I ask you to pay attention to her again.

The actual behaviour when moving a via point may or may not make sense, depending on requirements. If you have a LoMap for the region, each shaping point or via point is initially named with the address of the position. It then makes sense for the address to be updated when it is moved.

Whether it makes sense for the via point to be changed back to a shaping point when it is moved cannot be said in general terms.

If I name a via point individually, my name does not have to have anything to do with the exact position. I can use a via point as a reminder or a general hint or whatever. Then it is really annoying that the name is lost when it is moved.

Perhaps an option in the route planner settings would be useful: "Preserve via point name when moving". This would then apply to all via points.
Or another checkbox in the route planner list "Preserve via point name when moving". This would then only apply to the respective via point.

See screenshot.

We have reconsidered the behavior of this feature. When the app detects that the via point's name is manually entered (e.g. it is not a LoPoint) it preserves the name for possible later edits.

Great! Please also leave the via point as such when moving, and do not change it to a shaping point.

Thank you. Even the mood got better. :-)

Saves the name. But it doesn't keep its shape.

Tested in version 4.26.3.3 beta.
