Navigation from the selected point is unstable.

Not a Problem

Setting the task:
1. There is a ready-made route.
2. You are far from the starting point.
3. You need to get to the starting point of this route first, and then follow the route.

To do this, select the starting point of the route, start navigation with the option "Navigation from the selected point" enabled.

But it doesn't always work correctly. Sometimes it works correctly. Sometimes a route is set to the nearest point on the route.

This error can happen again if you perform the same actions over and over again. I tested this on two phones, including the Locus RC17 version.

Pay attention to the video.

For 6 minutes and 40 seconds, I started and stopped routing several times. Everything was working correctly. But then everything started to work incorrectly. I continued to repeat the same actions. Look at the mark of 7 minutes and 53 seconds, from that moment everything was working correctly again.

Hi,

sorry but we are unable to simulate this issue. Awaiting more feedback on this issue from other users.

Michal,

This situation is not reproduced in route modeling. Watch the video again. The GPS icon is green. Geolocation is enabled and working. This is not a simulation, this is a real route calculation. Therefore, you need to stand at the window, catch the GPS signal, plot a route from some remote point to the place where you are, and only then try to plot a route through this remote point. Moreover, the "navigation from a selected point" checkbox does not need to be checked every time. And keep a close eye on when the crash starts.

I've reproduced the situation exactly as you describe it, with a real route a few kilometers from my current location, with my phone GPS-fixed.

I understood the reason. The "Navigation from a selected point" option is not rigid. when moving to a specified point, this point will be reassigned automatically if it turns out that there is a closer point on the route. and this is very unexpected. in other words, the "navigation from a selected point" option is simply useless, you can't rely on it.

here we can add that the principle of choosing the next point when recalculating the route, in principle, has a significant drawback. The point to move to is selected relative to the last point we moved to. this leads to a situation where we will never reach such a point. the point to move to must be selected relative to my current location.
