How to record steps during a workout
Answered
Hi there how can I record a step count on Locus Maps? I created a dashboard including “cadence” but it returned a zero during my work out - I think it only reports cadence from an external sensor. I know my Pixel 8 has a step counter as Strava reports number of steps in a workout. So how do you get Locus to do the same? Thanks.
Hi Adam,
at the moment, Locus Map only supports external step counters connected via ANT. The new Google Health API is yet to be implemented.

OK thanks. It would be good if it could be done as it’s a bit of a gap in functionality at the moment. I’m also trialling Locus Lite on my iPhone and I noticed that does count steps. I guess the Apple Health API must have been implemented from the outset.
I’m very much looking enjoying using the app on my new Pixel 8.
Adam.
