Android Auto - Map Selector

First of all - many thanks for the Android Auto support. I got it via Google Beta subscription. Awesome :)

For selecting maps I have an idea which would great fit into my normal usage.

What about to add a checkbox in the normal presets called 'Android Auto available' and then list all these AA marked presets inside Android Auto where I can choose one of them, to be used.

It would be great to use the power of presets to define the Android Auto behavior.

What are your thoughts?

Thanks Wolfgang

create a preset Android Auto and set everything there.
You could then even say with Tasker. If BT is recognized by Auto then select this preset. I do the same with the MTB.

Tasker is unfortunately not the solution for everyone - I cannot tell people to use this; they never would understand what tasker is - they just want to use an app without special things.

This does not mean that tasker is a bad solution - it's just not the solution for the crowd

Yes, Tasker is not for simple users. But simple users don't need presets either.
But it is a solution until AA is improved in a few months.

Hello Wolfgang,

when you start the navigation in the AA, Locus Map automatically applies the Preset defined in the app settings > Navigation > Link with presets for the "Motor vehicle" category. Isn't this enough?

Or the tasks as freischneider suggested!

Hi Menion,

I played a bit around and did not yet find a solution. I tried the link with preset - this is fine but it does not help me when I do not navigate. I use the map mainly to just see nearby Geocaches.

Tasker is a good idea but not good for normal users.

I think one or more presets, direkt linked to AA, would be great. That's what I understand of presets - different settings for different used cases.
