Garmin Varia Radar RTL515 - no Connection possible

In Progress

I can't connect my Garmin Varia radar to the locus Map 4 app. The message always appears: No device found.
I've already put the Varia into pairing mode, reinstalled Locus Map, turned Bluetooth on and off several times, etc..

I use an Android smartphone and the Varia is found very quickly there and the radar is also found quickly in the Garmin Varai app.

Could someone help me to find out why it can't be found in the Locus Map app?

Hello Sandra,

this is unexpected behavior. I'm testing exactly with the same radar and it works as it should.

May I ask you for help with this issue? What is need to do:

  1. install the LightBlue app from Google Play, link here and start it
  2. enable Varia radar. It should blink with a purple light to indicate "waiting for connection"

It should appear as RTLXXXX device, like on my screenshot below. A similar screenshot from you will be welcome. Also tap to "Connect" and after connection, in the top bar menu is the option "Logs". On the next page tap on bottom "Share" blue button at the bottom and attach the shared text file here as well. Thank you very much.

Is it possible that you have some new model and that something changed in the parameters this device provides to Locus Map.

Hello Sandra,

sorry for the late response and thanks for the screenshot. It looks like all is correct on your side and I see no reason, why the current Locus Map solution should not work.

If the same issue happens also with the new 4.28 version (published a few days ago), and you will want to use Varia together with Locus Map, I may prepare a special app version that will print a little more info into log file. This may help to find a problem.
