offline map auto loading broken
Not a Problem
Since several versions ago (I did not check lately) the automatic map loading does not work for me. I set both "same type" and "all type" neither works. If I leave a map area, the others do not load. I have to load them manually (go to map manager, etc).
I use oam vectormaps.
Version: latest (4.28.1).
It seems that if there are more vector maps available for the same area, the autoload does not work. Earlier it was not a problem. I think it's better to load whichever map than to show nothing. I have maps for some countries both from https://download.geofabrik.de/europe.html and https://www.openandromaps.org/en/downloads/europe.

Further investigation shows that I had a map (far-eastern-fed-district.map, who knows when one needs it...). It seems to be covering parts of the world in both the eastern and western hemisphere. Thus the algorithm of Locus (if it only calculates on for example the "corner" points of a map) thinks that Europe is covered by this map. And shows nothing, because the map only has data for the far eastern Russian region. (Same is true for "Alaska") If I remove this map, then (as expected) even having multiple maps for the same coordinates loads at least one. This is a new thing, because I downloaded these maps in 2023, and the problem only arrived recently.

Hi Balasz,
it can happen that old maps are not loaded automatically because they are built for an older map rendering engine that is no longer present in the app. Please update all your maps to the latest version.

I wanted to check if the maps are too old, and the latest maps are now cut at 180 degree longitude. :) (E.g. there are now two Alaskas: Alaska1.map and Alaska2.map).
I still think that the algorithm to check if a point is inside the terrotiroy described by a given map file fails when the area covers both sides of lon 180. In this case the check "flips" around. The maps I had problem with were generated in 2023 and downloaded from https://download.mapsforge.org/, and until recently they worked perfectly. Only after one of the latest updates (in the last weeks) did I encounter the problem I described.
