Hello Andrii,

Thank you for reporting the bug. I will try to simulate and fix it. Could you please let me know which version of iPadOS you are using (for example, 18.3.2)? Thank you for the information.

Best regards,

Petr Janda

Hello Adrii,

Our internal test version fixes this bug. I hope the new version, which also contains other fixes and improvements, will be available in the App Store by the end of this week.

Good to hear đź‘Ť

I have one more suggestion, this is not a bug but missing feature. There is no direction indicator on your current location icon. Its just a blue circle now. Please look at my screenshot (apple maps), you will understand what Im speaking about.

Hi Adrii,

An indicator is hidden in various user tracking modes. Just tap the centering button to switch between them.

So we have 2 modes that changes with taps

1) map to the north, no direction indicator - default mode

2) map rotating, direction indicator

Why not add a direction indicator to Mode 1 so that it is always shown by default? I mean, it’s not very intuitive that you need to do extra taps to activate this, and a rotating map is not always comfortable to use.

The map library supports the following user-tracking modes:

1. No Tracking: The user can move the map freely without tracking.

2. Follow: The map tracks the user’s location.

3. Follow with Course: The map follows the user's location and rotates as the direction of travel changes. The course indicates the direction in which the device is moving. The default user location marker appears as a puck-shaped indicator that rotates with changes in course.

4. Follow with Heading: The map tracks the user's location and rotates based on changes in the heading. The default user location marker displays a fan-shaped indicator that shows the current heading. This heading indicator represents the direction the device faces and is sized according to the reported accuracy.

The switching between modes „follow with the course“ and „follow with the heading“ depends on the current speed. If the current speed exceeds 4m/s, the „follow with the heading“option is used. In the future, we will probably add some user settings to tune this behavior.

Sill don’t get why not to add direction indicator to all this modes. Its like adding one additional step (tap) to activate basic feature. I don’t insist, but users like simplicity.

We will enhance user tracking modes. I will ask my Android colleagues for advice. I can’t promise a timeline, as offline maps are currently the highest priority.

You can choose in the expert settings to have the direction indicator always visible. Each tap switches between north and direction of travel.

iOS do not (yet) have "Expert settings" ;)

Sorry, I keep overlooking that.
