Samsung TTS cannot be used except for Samsung apps starting with Android 15.
After looking into the issue of Samsung TTS not being available on Locus 4, I received the following response from Samsung.
"For the Galaxy S25 series and Android 15 (V) OS models,
the concept has been changed so that Samsung TTS engines are not used except for Samsung apps.
Therefore, the phenomenon of Google engine being used to read when running 3rd party apps other than Samsung apps is
normal operation, so please refer to it when using it."
In the end, it is not a problem exclusive to Locus, but the concept has been changed so that all apps other than Samsung apps use Google TTS.
There is no problem up to Android 14, but the problem occurs starting with devices using Android 15, and many posts are currently being posted on Korean portal sites criticizing and demanding a solution.
Can Locus solve this issue?
Hi,
thanks for your trust and support but unfortunately, we have absolutely zero influence on Samsung or Android OS development. Our apps can only use the available TTS engines and in the case of the newest Samsungs, it's obviously the Google TTS.
