I downloaded a LoMap offline map, but Locus Map 4.28.3 doesn't display it. Strangely, this offline map is displayed in Locus Maps Classic.

Hi Ulrich,

could you please send a few screenshots?

- map manager > Offline tab

- main menu > helpdesk/about app > app info

What LoMap did you download?

What map theme do you use?

What version of Android OS do you use?

Thank you. Could you please change the way of sorting the maps in the offline tab to "directories"? And send the screenshot again.

Hi,

I had the same issue few weeks ago after having downloaded my first offline maps just for testing purpose (LoMap of the south of France and also "Ile-de-France" region). I just got blank-gray background for both maps.

I have no idea why it happened though. Deleting & re-downloading the maps didn't change anything.

However, I've retried once again after having cleared all Locus application Data (cache, settings, etc), and then I've been able to make offline maps work.

Locus Map 4.28.3 + Android 11 for my part.

Ulrich, it seems the offline LoMap is not selected - go to the map manager > offline tab > Europe > tap the map you wish to display. A folder with an active map is highlighted light-blue:

Jetzt habe ich es irgendwie geschafft. Ich habe meine Tracks gespeichert und exportiert, den Cache geleert, die App deinstalliert. Danach habe ich Locus Map 4 erneut installiert und die Offline-Karten erneut heruntergeladen und eingebunden. Zuletzt habe ich meine Tracks wieder eingefügt. Nun funktioniert alles wieder, so wie es soll... fragt mich nicht warum.

Now I've somehow managed to get it working. I saved and exported my tracks, cleared the cache, uninstalled. Then I reinstalled Locus Map 4 and re-downloaded and integrated the offline maps. Finally, I added my tracks again. Now everything works as it should... don't ask me why.

I suspect that I messed around with the file paths somewhere at some point and made a mistake. I can't seem to figure it out anymore...

BUT THANKS SO MUCH FOR YOUR HELP!

Hi there,

@Michal, I think there is definitely something wrong with offline maps. I get the bug back, none of the offline LoMaps want to display something anymore. I've tried to remove all the downloaded masp (just two actually : "Ile-de-France", and "Spain"), and re-downloaded only the "Ile-de-France", but I can't make it works ...

Am I doing something wrong ? (I hope so because I'm preparing a hiking week in a few days 😔)

I'm using the latest version of Locus Map 4 on Android 11. I'm joining several screeshot + a video record. Feel free if you need more info.

Screenshot 1 : The map download screen

Screenshot 2 : The offline map being downloaded

Screenshot 3 : "offline maps tab" that show the selected map in blue

Screenshot 4 : Locus map info screen

Video : switching from LoMap online to the "Ile-de-France" offline LoMaps. You can see the map getting blank.

NB : this is not specific to the map, as I get the same bug with the map of Spain.

Thanks in advance for your help !

Hi, I've tested downloading another map (Tenerife island) from the locus store which is not a LoMap, and it works fine. It seems that the issue appears only with LoMaps 🤔

Vincent, what map theme do you use? What storage for the map files?

Hi Michal, thanks a lot for your help, much appreciated !

(I'm currently trying with the LoMap "France north" for which I have the same issue).

I use the the "Hike & bike" theme, and I've also a blank map if I switch to another available theme (city, road, or ski).

I didn't change any settings regarding the storage of the offline maps. The maps manager indicates that the "France North" map is stored into "/storage/emulated/0/Android/data/menion.android.locus/files/Locus/mapsVector/europe" directory.

Michal, I may have found something interesting : in Maps settings > Offline Maps > Text size : I don't know why and how, but the value was set to 0% here. I changed it to 100%, and ... The LoMap "France north" seems to display well again !

I have absolutely no idea how you managed to decrease the text size to 0%... the smallest available size is 50%:

Indeed I also can't set the value below 50% mysef from the settings panel, and I'm 100% sure I've never changed this setting intentionnaly since I've installed Locus Map.

Is it possible that some sequences of actions (like changing some specific settings or download/delete some LoMaps, etc) could lead to a wrong update of this value indirectly ?

I haven't come across anything like that but I'm quite sure there is no function that can decrease the text size below 50%, even unintentionally.

Hi, I'll keep you posted if I achieve to reproduce this, taking some screenshots and exporting my settings.
