Locus Maps does not 'wake up' for navigation instructions.

Not a Problem

All of a sudden the app stopped waking up for navigation instructions. I can start up a route for navigation but as soon as the screen turns off it never turns on again for navigation instructions. If i turn on the screen manually it works fine until the 'screen off' time is reached. The screen turns off and never wakes up automatically again. When a notification from another app turns the screen on then the naviagation from Locus also wakrs up again for a short while (until screen times out).

I've tried all the usual stuff (restart phone, restart app, empty cache, re-activate screen on/off function etc.) but nothing solves the problem.

Since i am on a biking holiday there is some urgence solving the problem..

Any suggestion is more than welcome.

Kind regards,

Jack.

Possibly an Android authorization.

Thanks for the repIy, i agree that it could be authorisation, but it did work for months and stopped without any changes made. So since the app did have the necessary authorisation and stopped working without changes i do not know what to change.

Simply view all authorizations and it is best to always select Allow all.
An authorization can be lost due to Android updates.

I followed your suggestion but unfortunately wasn't able to find a missing authorisation 🙄

Hi Jack,

Locus Map needs permission for accessibility services for the automatic turning screen on/off. Go to your phone system settings > Accessibility > Downloaded apps > find Locus Map > turn accessibility services permission on for it:

Thanks a lot. The problem is that the setting IS turned on in the settings (see attached screenshot).

Is there a way i can force the setting to re-initiate (i allready tried to turn it off an on).

Thanks in advance.

I tried it with the latest beta over the weekend and it works great.

The problem is probably caused by the batter optimization. Please exclude Locus from all means of battery optimization so that the app can run in the background, see http://docs.locusmap.eu/doku.php?id=manual:faq:gps_lost_fix_android6.

A good suggestion which i examined also. The app has unlimited battery usage in the background allowed.

Could it be the GPS is turned off when the app goes to the background? And are the settings in the attached screenshot influencing what the GPS does during navigation?

(language is Dutch but i hope the section in GPS and sensors is recognized)

Your GPS settings in Locus Map are OK.

Problem is solved by deleting the temporary data via the option in de app. Still don't know what went wrong initially.

Thanks to those who helped.

Jack.
