show/hide longpress confusing

Not a Problem

My Library button in side bar, long press: offers options "hide all" (Alles ausblenden) and "map view" (Kartenbildschirm).

It took me a while to figure out that "hide all" affects ALL MY points and tracks, while "map view" affects ONLY LoPoints currently in view.

Then when you zoom, LoPoints reappear.

I find that confusing. Why does the My Library button affect LoPoints?

Ideally I'd like to hide all my points and tracks in the current view only.

Also, I'd like to be able to SHOW all my points and tracks from my library that are in the current view's area.

This is not a mistake. The behavior is logical and correct. I don't want anything to be changed.
The purpose of hiding everything is to give us a clean and clear screen. LoPoi are also part of this. The reason why it works by long pressing on My Library is because it fits best there and no additional tool is necessary. I find the whole thing very well solved and very practical.
only map view deletes the current view. When you start zooming, you have a new map view and have to do it again. That's why I use hide everything.

The purpose is clear but that's not what's happening: "hide all" only hides my points (and tracks), not LoPoints, so not "all", while "map view" only hides LoPoints, not my points (and tracks). That's inconsistent.

I see four useful functions:

  1. hide/show all my points and tracks, everywhere (now first option)
  2. hide/show all my points and tracks, in the area of the current map view (missing option)
  3. hide/show all LoPoints, everywhere (missing option)
  4. hide/show all LoPoints, in the area of the current map view (now second option)

Also 2. should show objects from my library, even if they were not visible before!

You could actually remove the map view option altogether. With Hide all you have automatically hidden the map view.
Only LoPoi can be hidden in the Map Content Panel.
You want to show tracks and points at the current position.
Set the search to the center of the map. Go to the location. Search in My Libery for everything in the vicinity and show it.

Hi Frank,

- "Hide all" hides all items from My Library that are displayed on the map

- "Clear map screen" removes from the map screen all temporary objects like geocaching graphics or geocaches loaded via Geocaching4Locus add-on live map. Unfortunately, German translation of this is too long so only "Kartenbildschirm..." is visible

- displaying all user points or tracks near your location can be done via search in My Library as @freischneider has mentioned

- displaying/hiding LoPoints is managed in the content panel

Thanks Michal. I see now that the button has "clear" in its english title (German words are sooo loong :-) and what its scope is.

I am aware of the search by distance feature. Unfortunately it doesn't allow to toggle the visibility of those items that are within the distance from map center to currently visible map edge.

Even if I would estimate that from the current map scale, I'd still had to manually toggle each item's visibility, which may be many. (Locus only offers "first n elements", which is usually either too many or too few ;-) )

Any idea if it would be possible to implement such a (I my view tremendously useful :-) ) feature?!

You can of course define it exactly as an idea here at Helpdesk for others to vote. When the idea gets support from other users, our devs may start thinking about implementing it.

Ok, I try to describe it in a Feature Request as best I can. It seems so natural to me that I don't understand why other don't :-) You may delete https://help.locusmap.eu/topic/37640-showhide-everything-in-current-map-view where I first asked for it briefly.
