Private copies of LoPoints - editable

Wolfgang shared this problem 20 days ago
Solved

Good evening,

eversince being your customer, I collect your Lopoints as local Copies in my private library. These points were all fully editable in all relevant properties, i.e. position, icon, links to webpages, telefone. This is visible in the toolbar at the bottom of screenshot 1. Important here are the pen for edititing and the 3dots for basic tools as deletion or turn of visibility. This was excellent for all private copies of LoPoints.

Now a "new generation" of LoPoints appear on stage. They are as local copies no more editable. Basic tools are gone, too. Instead we get a stupid bottom for current weather. See screenshot 2.

I think, this is an annoying new feature in your app. Your customers are responsible enough to do with their copies(!) of your Lopoints what ever they want to do. If the customers want to change properties of points globally, they will use an OpenStreetMap editor.

Therefore, please reestablish the possibility to edit the private copies of all your LoPoints in all aspects.

Best wishes, Wolfgang

Hello Wolfgang,

sorry for this. It was not intent, but my accidental mistake I've overlook for all months of active development and testing.

It will be fixed in this weeks friday Beta version and definitelly in the next public version.

Thanks for understanding!

Can you tell (approximately) when the next public version will be rolled out?

I have the same problem and find it quite annoying. :-)

The beta version is already online. You can install it from G-Drive.

https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1t1CYpIhHGZXjNBqOFUPQKTTvddj7VVCv

4.30.1.6 (without Afa)

A new version is normally released in the Play Store every 4-6 weeks.

For those, who don't install beta, the following workaround helps:

1. Start with LoPoint directory, e.g. stations in Riga

2. Mark the point to your map (Riga central station).

3. Tap from the map to your point and add it from there to your desired private directory.

Then your private copy of the LoPoint has the desired properties as it always had.

I am using this beta version now. And unfortunately I have to say it does not work quite as expected.

Well, actually it works as expected. But only for newly stored pois/opoints.

When I try to display one of the lopoints I stored and edited previously they are always "overwritten" (in the display) by the lopoint that I took as base/template, i.e. the lopoint I copied, even if the copy has a totally different name. My stored poi seems to be linked to or "points to" the original lopoint. That means that all the information stored in these pois is no longer accessible and therefore lost. And that's a pity because I put a quite a lot of work into collecting the information.

Can you imagine a way to recover this information? A way to access these pois?

I attach a screen recording to this message to illustrate what I mean. I hope you can view this. The first poi works, the second doesn't, it links to the first one.

Best regards

Olaf

I found that exporting the corrupted pois to a gpx-file and re-importing them to locus solves the problem for me, using the beta version.

Hi guys,
I've improved this a little so in the next app (Beta) version, also LoPoints saved with public version should be correctly "editable". Sorry for this small mess!
