Issue with display of online LoPoints

Solved

Since today, I have noticed a significant issue with the display of online LoPoints. Numerous LoPoints that are definitely present are not loading. I have verified this with numerous LoPoints that I am familiar with and to which I have uploaded photos in some cases. When you highlight the category, they are found with the blue icon, but when you click on the icon, the panel for the LoPoint opens briefly and then closes again immediately.

This affects all kinds of categories at random, e.g. toilets, churches or sculptures. Some are displayed, some are not. It is not a problem with the internet connection.

They are all displayed offline.

Some of them don't appear on my screen either. They do appear offline. But I added pictures to one of them and I can't see them offline.

There are really a lot that are not displayed.

This is doubly annoying, as I have added countless photos "for nothing" and, in addition, the LoPoint search and highlighting are affected when numerous objects that exist in OSM (and, until the day before yesterday, also as online LoPoints) cannot be found.

Drinking water, toilets, viewpoints... In some cases, more than half of the existing objects are no longer available online as LoPoints and therefore cannot be found. (They are all there offline.)

My problem also concerns LoPoints: I have updated my LoMaps Germany (North) and Germany (South). In Germany (North), no LoPoints are displayed, or LoPoints from Egypt (e.g. Shoppingmalls, car parks) are listed. In Germany (South), the LoPoints are displayed correctly.

Same here. I noticed it in Web planner. Many LoPoints missing since a few days ago. I can't see the pattern to it.

Hi all, the problem is with the osm dataset updating mechanism on one of the data-crunching server. Locus specific data is not damaged (should not be), POIs are not deleted, just "invisible". Once I reset OSM update mechanism this problem should be solved. Sorry for this inconvenience, It is not caused by something we developed and fully control. This is my understanding of the issue at the moment. Radim.

Just for completeness, this seems to affect the web version of Locus map as well.

Compare these links (working):

https://web.locusmap.app/en/poi/42048123

https://web.locusmap.app/en/poi/42048124

with this one (tries to load for a long time and then ends up with Service Unavailable):

https://web.locusmap.app/en/poi/42048122

All pictures uploaded to points that are affected by the outage seem like they are not linked to any POI in the image list. I will re-check once the fix is online.

Hi everyone,

the online LoPoints are back on the map, it's possible to attach photos to them but still there are some background calculations running, affecting overlays and online search so please, be patient. Thanks for understanding and again, sorry for the inconvenience.

Yes, (most) online LoPoints are visible again, as are the assigned photos.

What's missing are some new POIs that I added to OSM 1 or 2 weeks ago and which appeared as LoPoints a few days later. I uploaded photos of these, which are also in my gallery – but now without a link. I assume that they will also be displayed on the map again soon. So I'll be patient. 🙂

Yes, that is expected. I have reset the visibility of POI database to 7.7.2025 - that is the timestamp of the latest reliable OSM dump. There is no update since that date at the moment. Once the updating works again (and some bomb-proof checks are introduced on our side), you will see your contribution live. It is not lost, not deleted, just made invisible as we traveled back in time 2weeks.

I can confirm that all missing points that all of the missing points that I detected a few days ago are back online with all of the uploaded photos.

Unfortunately, my offline LoMap (Germany North) still does not display any LoPoints today (15 July). I had previously removed the map and then reloaded it. When I want to list shops, for example, under "Additional functions>LoPoints", shops in Egypt are listed as before.

Do you have the latest version of the LoMap? If yes, have you tried to use "search"? Or what do you mean by "additional functions > LoPoints"?

My active offline map is Germany (North). A screenshot shows a section of Berlin. LoPoints are not displayed on the offline map. (Interestingly, they are displayed in Germany (South).) See the following screenshots for what is displayed when I use the menu. LoPoints matching the map are not displayed.

You are using LM3. It is not certain that this will work with the new LoPoi. Change to LM4

Thank you for the tip, Freischneider. I followed your advice and switched to LM4. The LoPoints that were previously missing are now all displayed.
