Offline routing doesn't work for some maps
Not a Problem
Phone: Samsung S25 Ultra
Locus Maps 4 with Gold subscription (long time user, but new phone)
Here is the behavior I'm seeing:
- Completely uninstall Locus Maps 4 (don't keep storage)
- Install Locus Maps 4
- Login to my account to activate my Gold Subscription
- Navigate to the Locus Store
- Search for "Utah"
- Click the "Update" button
- NOTE: it is very strange this map shows "Update" instead of "Download" after a clean install. However, it doesn't appear in my downloaded maps despite saying "Update".
- Download the "ELEVATION DATA"
- Download the "ROUTING DATA"
- After the download completes, click the "DISPLAY" button
- Exit the app
- Put my phone in Airplane Mode
- Launch Locus Maps
- Tap Menu > Route Planner
- Tap a first point
- Tap a second point
- A orange error is displayed "No Internet Connection!"
- It does not snap the route to the trail
I've gone through this 4 times and I get the same result every time. Offline routing is one of my primary use cases for Locus Maps.
I can create a route when online. I can also create an offline route for some other LoMaps (other US states). However, I cannot create any offline routes for the map "LoMaps - Utah". I think it may be related to this map showing the "Update" button instead of the "Download" button after uninstalling.
Any suggestions on how I resolve this?
