Hidden tracks reappear

Hi guys,

I searched for this, but I didn't find an answer. LM Classic, 3.70.16.

It happens to me that, after recording some tracks (in different days), I open the recorded track folder and hide them (using the eye icon) on the right. Then, I close the app (I also tried to get back to map before doing this, but the problem remains).

It happens to me (almost always) that when I open again the app (immediately or even after a few hours), the recorded tracks are visible again (sometimes only some of them). If I hide them again, then they stay hidden.

Any suggestions? Is it a bug?

Thanx!

Hi,

if this is a problem generally, you wouldn't be the only one to report it. Nevertheless, we'll check it out but such a behavior will require much testing. At the moment, we are unable to simulate it.

Yes, that's why I asked: I thought the same as you. Nobody seems to have the same problem.

If this can be of any help, I have almost a thousand recorded tracks in the folder.

I tried a few possibilities (e.g. working for a while with the app after hiding the tracks) to check for possible different behaviours, but with no success. It seems like the hiding command is accepted but not "committed" (in the database sense, if you get what I mean).

Anyhow, your investigation is very appreciated, thank you!

I'll share my opinion. Of course, this only applies to me, but it might be useful to you too.

I have about 900 very important tracks. They're 1.5 GB in size. I saved these tracks to my computer and processed them in GPSBabel. They ended up being 12 MB in size. Then I divided the tracks by year and created zip archives. They now take up 2 MB. I saved these archives to the .\Locus\mapItems folder on my phone.

What I got:

- I can view my tracks in Locus at any time through "Active Items," and it works very quickly.

- I can even display all my tracks at once, and Locus will show them, albeit slowly.

- Now I only store the last few tracks in the Locus database, which allows me to reduce the size of my Locus backups.

Everything works very quickly and flawlessly.

Thank you very much! This is an excellent suggestion! I will do the same.

I usually record a couple of bike tracks per day. When I am over a thousand, I download them to my pc, leaving only the last 100 records on my phone. I'll try this solution possibly keeping the last years on the phone.

Concerning the problem, I'll try some testing. I have the following doubts:

1. As soon as I stop recording, I get the summary of the record. I usually close the app directly from the summary. Everything is recorded, but this may cause problems?

2. I usually put some data of the recording in an Excel file (directly, by hand). I do this every 5-10 days, so I leave the tracks visible until i have processed them. Maybe leaving 10-20 visible tracks for a few days causes the problem?

I'll check for these.
