Migrate, load data, did not setup custom panels

To migrate locusmap classic to a new phone I tried the miscellaneous, default directory, unload data on the old phone, and then do the load data on the new phone, but some things did not migrate such as the custom side panels and button layouts, and the settings. However the map cache did seem to migrate correctly.

For example of something that did not migrate, the GPS kept turning on first run on the new phone, even though the setting on the old phone is switched to be off by default. The dashboard also to not seem to migrate or at least I could not find my shortcut on the panel anymore to activate it.

So then I used the backup menu to create the zip file in the old phone, and then imported it to the new phone.

Is that the correct way to do it, that I first did the unload and load data, and then afterwards did the export and import of the zip file? Or is there any problems with doing both of them instead of only one?

Hi,

the best way is to use the migration backup that you can trigger directly from the main menu of Locus Map Classic: https://docs.locusmap.eu/doku.php?id=manual:faq:classic_to_lm4.
