is there a watchdog style app to ensure Locus Map remains running
Answered
Locus has silently crashed a few times lately, resulting in between 5 & 10 minutes of lost data before I realized & restarted, but before I write my own simple Tasker profile, does anyone know of an off the shelf app in which you'd specific the name of the monitored app (eg. Locus), and maybe a screen widget so you could toggle monitoring on & off. When on, this app every minute say, would obtain a list of running user apps, and if Locus is not there, would be restarted. A fairly simple task for Tasker. I had a check in the Google Play store & nothing obvious was found.
Thanks for any suggestions.

Hi Andrew,
We apologize for the inconvenience, but if the app crashes, please let us know, preferably by providing a log report. The app also provides its own log, available after long-pressing the main menu button and tapping the "Report bug". Please send the log to us for further investigation. Thanks.

It's generally not convenient to do bug reports during an activity. And unfortunately during an activity is when these issues are most likely.
I thought "help" questions rather than "forum" was where more Locus users viewed these topics/ posts & was the prefered means of general discussion eg. for my question.

Andrew, again, sorry for the trouble, but we are here to solve problems of Locus Map, not for finding other apps that will monitor if Locus Map is working. I know it's a pain to create logs during an activity but there is no other option for us to find out why the app crashes.
I suppose you are familiar with the recommendations regarding exclusion from all battery optimizations, background location permissions, turning off Google Service location assistance, etc.

No worries at all Michal. I thought the help system was also a community forum. I wasn't expecting any response from a Locus team member, it was a general question to any other user to share their experience.

Locus Map users answering questions on the helpdesk is a pleasant bonus of our Locus community (big thanks to many of them!). Still, primarily, the helpdesk is a place for developers and operators like me to answer questions.
