Activated route no longer color coded

When I click on a route it used to change color. For some reason or other it stopped doing that, now it has a little white Halo left and right of the track which is very hard to see. How can I change that please? Also on a side note, if I activate the route the detail window popping up (giving the name of the road etc) takes up half (!) my screen space. That renders the display unusable when I'm on my way..

And on a general note: This is what is a very unfortunately happening rather often. I come back to Locus after several days, sometimes weeks, to use it for a hike. And actually I do want to get going like now. Instead I stumble over some sort of change in behavior which I first have to clarify/ rectify. Instead of being out and about I'm sitting on the sofa writing to the forum. Personally, I would really really like the app and its interface to remain unchanged for years if possible. All these changes are detracting from using my favourite routing app.

Hi,

1) we changed the way of highlighting the active route to preserve its original style, according to the Locus Map community demands. This can't be reversed. Only the missing direction arrows will be returned in the next app version.

2) the route detail panel is the same since Locus Map 4 was launched 5 years ago. If you want to follow a route, turn on navigation or guidance.

3) the app's interface in general hasn't been changed for 5 years. We only adjusted details, slightly changed app colors, etc. We don't change your app setup and we can't do it.

Re 3) maybe I have a broader understanding of the term "interface" (and of course it has nothing to do with my setup). Last time I needed help, it was the route profile behavior, this time the highlighting of the active route. To me these constitute changes of the interface, stuff that is irritating when you open the app and just want to use it. That is what I meant.

These are all improvements and updates. Most users want these improvements. But each month, only a small section is covered. You just need to read what has changed.

https://help.locusmap.eu/announcement/locus-map-android-version-4-33-032026

New features are explained in more detail in the section.

The world changes every day, and so does Locus Map. If it didn’t, we’d still be living in caves.

To be fair to S.H. Seelen, the change in coloring/ style for a selected track on the map has resulted in *many* comments from other users, mostly negative. In one beta, from expert settings? the halo color could be set, then in another beta it was just white, now the direction arrows will be returned, after some feedback. I was a little confused too, but followed the beta comments, which ordinary users can hardly be expected to read. I see & mostly agree with the reason for the change, I think the halo thickness could be wider, but I sympathise with frustration of having to workaround changes. At least Locus is one of very few apps to have super detailed release notes. I'd suggest turning off auto-update of apps.

Here below is the only mention I can find (4 beta releases ago) - easy to miss:
